The 10 best cell phones of 2015 – part 1

While we’re already halfway through 2016 (where has the time gone?!?) I thought it’d be neat to take a look at 2015’s top cell phones.

Why? It’ll be fun to compare to see if this year’s top phones are similar to those from last year. So without further adieu, let’s get started!

10. iPhone 5s

We’re sure to see Apple a few times on this list – after all, they’re one of the biggest smartphone players in the field. Most people like this model because it has features that people absolutely love – even more than the newer models.

Not to mention the fact that it’s a lot more manageable in terms of size… you won’t have trouble reaching for letters or numbers!

9. Samsung Galaxy Alpha

When the Galaxy Alpha was released in late 2014, it came with a lot of buzz (and apparently high prices). Even though prices have dropped, it remains one of the year’s top sellers. You get great features including a 12-megapixel camera, an Exynos 5430 chip and a 4.7 inch 720p screen… all mumbo jumbo to say that you get pretty awesome features for the price.

8. Motorola Droid Turbo

Don’t think that Motorola is out of the mobile game… for people wanting a long battery life, this phone boasts two days of power after a full charge. Marry that with a Quad HD screen with a 20-megapixel camera, here’s another great choice.

We’ll see how long Motorola can stay competitive in the phone game… after all, they were one of the veterans before Nokia, Apple and Google came along.

7. Nexus 6

If you’ve seen other Nexus phones, you know they’re a very close relative of tablets. I’m sure you’ve heard of a phablet (if you haven’t, I’m glad I taught you something!). A phablet is the child of a phone and tablet, and is a repeat offender in Google’s repertoire. Being backed by powerhouse Google, of course it offers a great user experience plus not to mention a very attractive price point for consumers.

6. LG G4

When it was released, the LG G4 was hailed by critics for delivering ‘beyond expectations’. While its predecessor, the LG G3 had numerous system lag problems, the G4 made sure to eradicate those problems. I’ve personally owned one in the past and the front camera is PERFECT for selfies! Another great feature that appealed to me was the ability to swap the leather backing with a more casual, sleek grey-blue cover. Dress it up or down – it gives your phone personality!

5. iPhone 6 Plus

Told you Apple would appear on this list once again! The iPhone 6 Plus was Apple’s way of saying “we can do phablets too!”. Along with the size, Apple also improved the battery life than its previous model and comes complete with a 1080p HD display, used primarily for landscape view. The color and software that came with the iPhone 6 Plus are other perks that consumers enjoyed.

We’ll leave this post here for now… stay tuned for our next blog post which continues the countdown to the other top five!

UMTS
Like many people, talking about me doesn’t come easy (though my friends will say otherwise!). I’ve recently started blogging and found it’s a great way to share my thoughts and opinion on things. While I won’t claim to be an expert on most things,
